Welcome!
What is Rotex?
Rotex is a group of former Rotary
Youth Exchange students who gather to promote several kinds of activities in
order to keep in touch with each other and the exchange program. Although it is
not an official Rotary International program, Rotex works mainly as a support
group for everyone involved in the program.
Rotex São Paulo
Founded in December 2001, Rotex São
Paulo works in the city of São Paulo and surrounding areas, in Brazil, embracing
the Districts 4430, 4590 and 4610.
Our goal is to strive for the continuous
improvement of the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program through
activities for the inbounds, outbounds and rebounds.
Activities
Currently, we work both individually and
in joint-effort with Rotary.
We work on activities with the Multidistrict
Expro Brasil, such as orientations for inbounds, outbounds, host families and
exchange officers, candidate selections, Portuguese tests and the organization n
of the Nation's Fair, the biggest event in São Paulo for the program.
Besides those activities, Rotex organizes a monthly event for the inbound
students; these projects include visits to downtown São Paulo, hikes and walks,
visits to parks, museums and soccer matches, Brazilian folklore parties and much
more.
Who are we?
The 2007-2008 board is composed of the
following members:
President: Pedro Prochno
Secretary: Camila
Chabar
Treasurer: Wanessa Padilha
Inbounds Director: Juliana
Almeida
Outbounds Director: Maurício Segoshi
Nowadays, our group has about
14 members and 3 trainee-members.
